If you follow pop culture at all it would have been hard to miss the fact that Comic-Con was taking place earlier this month in San Diego.  After reviewing the images submitted to OutdoorAdVault this month from San Diego, it became apparent that OOH Advertising was heavily utilized to promote participants in the event.  One suprising thing I noted during the review was the heavy concentration of TV shows versus movies among the images submitted.  Apparently this was not a casual observation either.  Ed Martin published an article, “TV, Not Movies, Dominates Comic-Con”  yesterday, July 17th, on MediaPost expressing the same observations.

Another observation from the OutdoorAdVault capture is that non-traditional forms of OOH advertising were favored including PediCab advertising, Bus Wraps, and Mobile Billboards.  There were also traditional forms of OOH such as walls and billboards utilized.  These and other images from San Diego are available for download through Carroll Media’s OutdoorAdVault service.
